Times are interesting, but style must persist. I will say I have definitely witnessed evidence of the downturn hand to hand. At Marc Jacobs here in Chicago with bags and accessories still holding down the fort - ready to wear has had a harder time jumping off the shelf. In this sort of economy where getting the bang out of your buck is essential, focusing on staples for the wardrobe that you will be able to wear for seasons on end is where its at.
